Your Name

1. A substitute becomes a player when he/she legally enters the court. If entry is not legal, the substitute becomes a player when the ball becomes alive.
2. The 10 second count ends when the dribbler has both feet in the front court.
3. After playing for 3 minutes, it is discovered that the teams have been going in the wrong direction. All play stands and the teams are directed to go in the proper direction.
4. During a designated throw-in, the thrower-in cannot move except to throw the ball.
5. The designated throw-in is made with 2/10's of a second on the clock. The throw-in is caught by an offensive player, who then shoots and makes the basket. The responsible official should count the basket.
6. Team A inbounds the ball from the end line to player A, who is standing in the back court. This is an over and back situation.
7. Either official may judge the legality of the ball. Either team may provide a ball which meets specifications.
8. The playing court shall be a rectangular surface with dimensions not greater than 94 feet long by 50 feet wide.
9. A team is charged with five technical fouls for failure to supply the name, number, and designated starting five players to the official scorer at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the game.
10. It is reported to the referee that the starting members of one team have different numbers on their jerseys than those in the scorebook. The numbers are then changed to match the scorebook and the team is assessed one technical foul only for the five violations.
11. It is recommended that the scorers and timer sit away from each other so as not to distract one another.
12. If a substitute reports to the scorer's table after the first warning buzzer, one of the officials should beckon him/her into the game.
13. During live ball play, Player B dunks the ball into Team A's basket. The officials should wave off the basket and assess a technical foul for dunking.
14. After the final buzzer ending the game, Coach B, who's team won by two points, confronts the officials and verbally abuses them as they are leaving the court. A technical foul can be assessed and two free throws attempted. If both are successful, an extra period will be played.
15. Airborne shooter A returns to the floor and crashes into opponent player B as the ball goes through the hoop. This is a player control foul, the basket is waved off and no free throws are attempted if warranted.
16. Situations involving deflected passes, fumbles, and interrupted dribbles, etc., player control continues until the opponents gain control or the ball becomes dead.
17. Player B goes up to block a shot and intentionally strikes the backboard. This is not a technical foul.
18. During a jump ball situation, non-jumpers may move off the circle at any time.
19. Coach A requests a 30 second time out which has been reported to the scorekeeper. 10 seconds into the time out, Coach A says I really need a 60 second time out. The proper mechanic for the official is to instruct the scorekeeper to change the 30 second time out to a 60 second time out.
20. The second horn has sounded indicating that the time out is over, but the offensive team delays at the bench. The administering official shall place the ball on the floor and begin a 5 second count as the resuming play procedure is in effect.
